Village of Blasdell, NY – July 31st, 2025 — The members of the Big Tree Volunteer Fire Company brought smiles and laughter, to local children by hosting a fun water spray event.![]()

Firefighters opened up hoses and gave kids a chance to run through the water spray at JFK Park, turning an ordinary summer afternoon into a memorable community experience. The event was free and open to the public, drawing families out to enjoy some safe, family-friendly fun.![]()

We love giving back to our community in any way we can. Events like this not only gave the children a fun day, but they also give us a chance to connect with our neighbors in a positive and fun way.![]()

The event also gave children and parents a chance to see fire trucks up close, and meet their local volunteers.![]()

At approximately 10:17 PM, Big Tree Fire Company was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Windridge Lane in Eaglecrest Mobile Home Park. Big Tree 9 was first on scene and reported smoke showing from the "B" side of the structure, declaring a working fire.![]()

Big Tree Engine 1 responded with a crew of five and arrived first due, initiating fire suppression efforts. Seconds later, Big Tree Engine 2 responded with an additional crew of four, established a water supply to Big Tree 1 and supported fire attack operations.![]()

Crews had the oven fire knocked down within 2 minutes of arrival and all units were placed back in service within the hour after ventilation and checking for extension to the residence.![]()

Big Tree was assisted on scene by Big Tree EMS, Lakeshore Fire Co, Scranton Fire Co., Woodlawn Fire Co., Armor Fire Co., Hamburg Police Department, and Hamburg EMS. Thank you to all Mutual Aid Partners for their support.![]()
